Privacy policy
This policy describes what personal data is processed in the ilmaistapahtumat.fi service, why, and for how long. The policy has been drawn up in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Updated 31 July 2026.

What data do we process and why?
Browsing the service
Browsing the service does not require registration. Visitor numbers are tracked with a cookieless analytics service that sets no cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
Ads are shown on the service, and advertising may require the use of cookies. Cookies and how to manage them are described in more detail in the cookie policy.
Advertising
Ads are served by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). If you consent to advertising cookies, Google may process your device identifiers, IP address and browsing data for ad targeting and measurement. If you do not consent, we show limited ads in which Google neither reads nor sets cookies or equivalent identifiers on your device.
Consent is collected under IAB Europe's Transparency and Consent Framework. Your choice is stored in a TC string that is passed to advertising parties. You can view the list of participating vendors in the consent window. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
The legal basis for processing advertising cookies and personalization is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie settings button in the footer. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Event suggestions (submission form)
When you suggest an event using the submission form, we process the following data:
- the event details and any image you provide in the form
- your name
- your email address
- optionally, your phone number
- your IP address
Your name, email address, and phone number (if provided) are used to process your suggestion and to contact you about it if needed. This contact information is not shown in the published event, and it is kept only for as long as handling the suggestion requires, under the same retention periods as the rest of the event suggestion's data (see Retention periods below). Your IP address is used to prevent misuse of the service (limiting the number of submissions). The legal basis for processing is the controller's legitimate interest: maintaining the service and preventing misuse.
Retention periods
- Consent given for cookies is kept in your browser until you withdraw it or clear your browser data.
- Processed event suggestions are automatically deleted within 90 days of processing.
- IP data used to prevent misuse is automatically deleted within 24 hours.
- Published event data is deleted within 30 days of the event ending.
Data processors and transfers
Subcontractors responsible for the technical maintenance of the service and data storage process data only on behalf of the controller. Data is stored on servers located in the EU (Frankfurt and Helsinki).
In connection with advertising, data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States. Transfers are protected by an adequacy decision under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by EU-approved standard contractual clauses.
Data is not sold or disclosed to third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- find out what data about you is processed
- request correction or deletion of your data
- object to processing or request that it be restricted
