This policy describes what personal data is processed in the ilmaistapahtumat.fi service, why, and for how long. The policy has been drawn up in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Updated 13 July 2026.

What data do we process and why?

Browsing the service

Browsing the service does not require registration and no personal data is collected from it. The service does not use tracking cookies. Visitor numbers are tracked with a cookieless analytics service that does not store data identifying individual visitors.

Event suggestions (submission form)

When you suggest an event using the submission form, we process the following data:

  • the event details and any image you provide in the form
  • your email address
  • your IP address

Your email address is used only to contact you if needed while processing your suggestion. Your IP address is used to prevent misuse of the service (limiting the number of submissions). The legal basis for processing is the controller's legitimate interest: maintaining the service and preventing misuse.

Retention periods

  • Processed event suggestions are automatically deleted within 90 days of processing.
  • IP data used to prevent misuse is automatically deleted within 24 hours.
  • Published event data is deleted within 30 days of the event ending.

Data processors and transfers

Subcontractors responsible for the technical maintenance of the service and data storage process data only on behalf of the controller. Data is stored on servers located in the EU (Frankfurt and Helsinki). Data may also be processed outside the EU, in which case transfers are protected with EU-approved standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Data is not sold or disclosed to third parties for marketing purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • find out what data about you is processed
  • request correction or deletion of your data
  • object to processing or request that it be restricted
